Dr. David Chaffin is a distinguished ophthalmologist with a career spanning over 29 years in comprehensive eye care. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis, in 1985, graduating with highest honors and earning membership in the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He then pursued his Doctor of Medicine at UCLA School of Medicine, earning his degree in 1989.

Following medical school, Dr. Chaffin completed his internship in internal medicine at USC Medical Center and Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in 1990. He then pursued specialized training in ophthalmology at UC Davis Medical Center, completing his residency in 1994, during which he served as Chief Resident in his final year.

In 1994, Dr. Chaffin obtained his medical license in Nevada and became board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1996. He spent nearly three decades at Nevada Eye Consultants, serving as Medical Director until 2022. Currently, he continues to practice as a general ophthalmologist on a part-time basis and serves as Director of the Eye Surgery Center of Northern Nevada.

Dr. Chaffin has extensive experience in cataract and LASIK surgeries, having performed over 30,000 cataract procedures and 10,000 LASIK surgeries. He is also proficient in glaucoma management, medical retina treatments, and general eye care. His contributions to ophthalmology extend beyond clinical practice, as he has authored multiple publications and presentations on refractive surgery and premium intraocular lenses.
